I think we can all agree that 2017 was a strange old year. Let's not get into all that here. Let's just focus on the good stuff.
2017 was the year we founded Department Two. It was the year we decided to stop pratting around and actually take notice of our own talents. We're still working on that, but we've made some great steps towards getting the business off the ground. We've done some cool things and have worked with some pretty interesting people.
We've made connections. Scratch that. We've made friends.
Our work has taken us across the UK, from London to Glasgow and a fair few places in between. We've worked on projects a little closer to home, too. In fact, there's nothing we love more than working with local people here in Sheffield. Popping over the Peaks to visit Manchester isn't so bad either.
Over the past year we've learned a lot about ourselves and the way we work. We call ourselves 'immersive content creators'. I suppose that sounds a little pretentious, but the more we do the more that seems to fit.
Take our most recent adventure as an example. This past December we travelled up to Aberdeenshire with our friends Alec and Dakota to film and photograph content for Alec's company, Trakke, and the travel company Canopy and Stars. We stayed in snow-bound cabins, drank good whisky, and feasted on hearty stews in front of log fires. The video above and photographs below show some of the highlights from this magical, snowy weekend.
We have a few more adventures planned for the year ahead, so watch this space.
For now, may we wish all of our friends, wherever they may be, a happy 2018.
