Women of Pitti 94
Pitti Uomo is most famous for its peacocking fashion-misters lining up along *that* wall waiting for *that* photographer to take their picture. Women do join in with the circus, but they appear notably less invested in the whole thing. In a curious way this makes them stand out all the more.
Free from the usual pressures to impress, to conform to or subvert expectations, women at Pitti do the closest thing to dressing for themselves. Their rather understated, unshowy elegance cuts through the sea of pastel jackets, visible ankles and panama hats, and our lenses just seemed to pick them out.
